We seek to empower women through educational opportunities and self-sufficiency skills training.

Dinah's House was started in 2015 by Rev. Gay Cox, then a deacon at Trinity Episcopal Church. Originally created to serve women trapped in the sex-trafficking industry it has adapted to address the many complicated needs of women and their families. We provide a "house," a safe place, for women to offer and seek support. We meet women where they are, whether they are working or unemployed, safely housed or homeless, documented or undocumented...we don't ask questions. Using a holistic approach we connect women with social services accompanying and empowering them to seek the right solutions.

Angela Soto, Director Dinah’s House

Hello my name is Angela Soto and I am the Program Director of Dinah’s House. I was born in New Jersey and raised in Puerto Rico for 12 years. I’ve lived in Haverhill for 6 years with my two wonderful children Darian and Damir. The first time I walked in to Dinah’s House I was picking up my son from the school bus, when Reverend Deacon Gay Cox aproached me and told me I could come in with my son. She started talking to me about Dinah’s mission, that it was a safe place for women to come in with their children to talk about their problems and needs. So every day after my son came from school we would come into Dinah’s. My son loved it because he got to know more kids and play with them. I started helping Gay to translate flyers in spanish. Then when Kerry Chomic started as the new director of Dinah’s she asked me if I wanted to work with her as an assistant director to help support the women in Dinah’s. Then 2 years later she offered me the position of Program Director. One of the reasons I love working at Dinah's House is to see the smiles on the women's faces when we are able to help with their needs.
