Angela Soto is the Program Director of Dinah’s House. Born in New Jersey and raised in Puerto Rico for 12 years. Soto, and her children Darian and Damir, have made Haverhill home for last six years
She remembers her first experience visiting Dinah’s House and the impact it made on her. “I was picking up my son from the school bus, when Reverend Deacon Gay Cox approached me and invited me to come in with my son. She started talking to me about Dinah’s mission, that it was a safe place for women to come in with their children to talk about their problems and needs. So every day after my son came from school we would come into Dinah’s House. My son loved it because he got to know more kids and play with them.”
Soon Soto started helping translate flyers into Spanish. Director Kerry Chomic director, recognized her skills and asked if she wanted to work with her as an assistant director to help support the women in Dinah’s. Soto would grow into the role on go on to become Program Director two years later.
“One of the reasons I love working at Dinah's House is to see the smiles on the women's faces when we are able to help with their needs,” she said.
